[QUOTE="Ruin Explorer, post: 9103852, member: 18"] I mean, who is more guilty, a child, clearly under the age where they could understand what death is or permanent consequences or even really right and wrong, or an adult who psychotically murders a bunch of a children for stealing a genuinely insignificant and meaningless amount from him? I'm going go with the latter by... oooh... infinity? There's no "suicide by PC" for a bunch of 8-10 year olds. There's only child-murder by a psychopath who could have pressed the non-lethal button at any moment! Also ringleaders are a thing. Very few kids are genuinely good at resisting peer pressure. I was, but that was because, I think, I was a ringleader by nature (as a child, less so as an adult). There's really only one kid who is perhaps genuinely a bad kid and on a bad path, and that's Mol. I suspect most of the children who we can't locate the parents of are orphans, too, given the events of Descent to Avernus, also didn't they all traumatically get turned into tieflings by that? That's got to mess you up. And given how maladapted most of the tiefling adults are to the situation (they seem very middle-class, by and large, I guess Elturel was), and how young many of the surviving adults are (Zevlor being the only one who seems much older than "early 30s" - most giving early 20s vibes), I suspect the parenting skills they have are very limited. However I will agree on one major point you make: what the absolute hell is wrong with RPG designers, that almost all the kids they put in games are horrible little thieving oiks? I'm actually surprised the game didn't brutally manipulate us by having some genuinely nice goblin children (I've never even seen a goblin child, but then I haven't spent much time in that camp) to counterpoint the tiefling ones, but I guess that would be a little implausible given how awful the goblins are.
