Over 300 people working on this, three freaking hundred. That is massive. 4 studios and external developers. It's going as closely to 5e as they can make work. Most of the PHB spells are in. Its got drop in and drop out multiplayer. Its on Stadia and PC (GoG and Steam) They got help from WotC with adjusting 5e mechanics for the Video game medium. It's set right after BG: DIA, and they borrowed a mechanic from the AP, perhaps infernal deals or Infernal Warmachines. It does have elements that tie into BG 1 and BG 2 and Murder In Baldur's Gate, but not the protavonist from those games because he died in in Murder In Baldur's Gate. They said big parties. Nactiliods, Mind Flayer space ships. Accelerated Mind Flayer breeding. Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul figure into the story. Mind Flayers invade BG. The game starts nust outiside BG. Enviromntal Effects are in. Speculation: At minium all the PHB races/subraces are in, likely more (300 devs), most if not allPHB feats, classes, and subclasses will likely be in. I think playable Gith will be in, a major Illithid invasion with draw both Gith subraces to it like flies to poop. Thanks to ties to BG: DIA I think Aasimar will be in as well. But with 300 people I think its entirely possible that all the races/subraces/class/subclasses/backgrounds/ffeats will be in the game. Oh and I think all of VGTM's mind flayer minion creatures will be in.
