[QUOTE="Torin Ironfist, post: 4003559, member: 53615"] Teleportation doesn't allow for someone or something to come out on an unsupported surface... ridiculous as that is i do see the point in not being able to teleport your enemy 100 miles into the sky to kill them.... but that does not apply to this spell either way, it allows 2 people to switch places while connected in some physical way ~ now why would you have to lasso your target exactly? You don't have to have 2 people with their feet stuck securely in holes in the ground for the spell to function, nor do 2 people have to be grasping at the railing on a bridge, the spell description states, without quoting, that the 2 bodies that are switching places must be connected in some physical way, whether that be their examples or others. If you were to tie fishing line to your shoe and your buddies shoe 50 feet away, you could conceivably use this spell, though we all see the obvious flaws in that plan. The spell ~should~ work if someone throws a rope onto someone... AND IT STAYS ON THEM... and then they use the spell. Now... if i threw a rope onto someone without it being secured in some way the chances of it staying on them are minuscule, but if that rope had a net at one end, then it would work just fine. It doesn't need to actually entangle the target, just stay in contact. Even if the rope had a magnet on one end and the PC were to use it on armored targets in that way, it would work. The bigger question is how often are you going to be able to reliably do that, and when it does happen, why wouldn't the NPCs sometimes have some countermeasures.... fly, featherfall, or anything else you might come up with. And how often are they fighting next to cliff faces? If its often, why aren't there NPCs with hold person/monster or whatever you would need to knock that PC out of the sky right off the cliff face to his/her own demise while he/she is attempting this stunt? I think it sounds like a solid idea on the player's part, but there are a LOT of risks involved with repeated use. *edit* heck, even a tiny crossbow with a line attached to the bolt and the other end in your hand would work, and provide amount of damage when the bolt hits.
