BAR FIGHT

First Post
So I've been making a dungeon, and it starts with a bar fight. here is a system I came up with, what do you think? Pretty much, they can only do nonlethal damage, or they will be tried for murder. There will be a bunch of mead bottles rolling around, they deal 1d6 points of nonlethal damage. They drunk guys in the bar fight have an AC of 10, and 10 health. You can get rid of your nonlethal damage by drinking a bottle of mead or wine or whatever, but after one you are buzzed, -1 Dexterity for AC, -2 Attack rolls, if you roll a 1-3 you fumble and hit yourself. Once you've had 2 bottles, you're drunk no dexterity bonus to AC, 1-5 you fumble, natural 1 you critical yourself, -5 attack rolls. If you have three bottles you're black out drunk, pretty much 1-10 you fumble, no dexterity bonus to anything, 1-3 you crit yourself, also the DM actually gets to control your character. It's really just for fun, so I will let them do almost anything. I test played it with one of my friends, and he ended up vaulting behind the bar, and grabbing the beer tap, which used magic, he was allowed to turn the pressure all the way up, and blast people with high pressure beer. Any recommendations on more awesome things to add?

I'd say that anything that means someone else controls your character is the opposite of fun. There's nothing less fun in a game than not being allowed to participate in it!

Otherwise, sounds like fun.

Bar fights are crazy in my game, rules are off the wall.

Things like:
  • Females have two claw attacks, if both hit, they grab hair and can then perform the body swing, where they throw their foe into someone else.
  • Female fighting females is a distraction for males; loss of action if fail vs highest CHR
  • Halflings move twice as fast as normal and get a free attack if from greater height.
  • Halflings, gnomes, head butt below the belt.
  • Dwarves gain an extra attack for each drink during fight.
