Ah! thank you for this. I saw it on face book, but I don't always get a good watch of it.It would stop and go no further, no matter what I do. But link worked perfect.

Reactions are pretty negative to it. Fascinating when compared to Star Wars' trailer. Yet B v S brings more less nostalgia and more meat. I think I answered my own question.

I don't get why everyone seems to think "Dark Knight Returns" was so great. Like Watchmen, it seems to be over-hyped. The "politics" expressed in the comics are pretty petty, knee-jerk reactionary. That and the story just feels... pretty weak-sauce. Can someone please explain it to me?

Paints Batman as a bit of a jerk.

which in truth he kinda is.

Wish it had the other characters in it.

Clear Dark Knight Returns influence.

Yeah. It has DKR all over it, from camera angles to Batman's armour. The new Batwing looks pretty cool too.

I'm really interested in this "how the world really would react to Superman" angle. If find that a really compelling idea, and I'm keen to see them explore it.

Love the bit where he's catching the Russian spacecraft. And I like that his costume is much brighter this time around.

They don't show Wonder Woman or Aquaman, but they're both in the movie. The end should set up the Justice League.

It's a number of factors:

DKR along with watchmen started the Dark age of comics. Both were dark, gritty and complex works which took the superhero genre and deconstructed it, infusing it with greater political and psychological complexity and a greater amount of graphic sexual and violent content than had been seen previously.

DKR also had/has a a gritty, unique style that's draped in the best of Film Noir techniques. Along with redoing the relationship between sups and bats, which up to that point was best buds.

Note that the above is just IMHO
