Battle of the Psionic Bestiaries

In one corner, we have Green Ronin's Monsters of the Mind, and in the other, Malhavoc Press' Beasts of the Id. But doesn't quite look like an even fight... former has 50 monsters while latter has 18.

Still, I don't think anyone's going to miss the Mind Flayer much. ;)

The titles are so similar, I hope there was collaboration between the companies!

Great minds think alike, and all that. :D

In fact, we have talked to Sue and Monte about that very thing. Stay tuned.

Well, there goes more of my hard-earned cash. I'll be picking up both of these. Finally, a substantial amount of goods for those of us who want to run a Psi campaign. Just to cool everybody's heels til these books come out, you should all check out Philip Reed's excellent Possessors pdf at rpgnow. You won't miss Mind Flay .... er ... um ... Brain Suckers at all anymore :D

What does it matter? How many normal monster manuals do you own? I have 3 from WotC, a bunch from Sword and Sorcery, several from Green Ronin, and a few others... buying 2 more is not a big deal. :-) Especially all psionic creatures. That really makes them stand out. There are a couple of psionic creatures in the CC from S&S, the ones in the back of the psionics handbook, and a couple others scattered about. There is a definate need for more creatures, to use in a psionic setting.

Well the book from Malhavok will be combined with Mindscapes for the print version so if you want an all in one psionic book, the Malhavok one will be the way to go while if you want a paper psionic compendium of monsters, GRG seems the way.
