Battlelore and Dave arneson

I just got back into Battlelore. I have all of the expansions but some sat assembled for some time. I have it all complete and am now playing the expansions.

after looking at “heroes” I started thinking it seemed like proto D&D…braunstein and chain mail…

then I saw “the” Dave Arneson was a play tester?!

anyone here play that game? Anyone know more about Dave Arneaon’s role in the game?

Which version of Battlelore?

The Original or the FFG version?

I don't know Arneson's role in the game though.

actually both in a way!

he is on play test credits for the original days of wonder game but also some expansions put out by ffg when they took over the 1st edition of battlelore.

some of these might have come out a couple years after his death but if it is home, it would still be possible if they did the play tests a couple years in advance
