Margaret Weis, of Dragon Lance fame, is apparently handling the BSG RPG. As such I may pick it up, I've always been a fan of her material, even if I feel she and Tracy went back to the well once too often with Dragon Lance.
My understanding is the movie will indeed be about the Battlestar Pegasus, which could make it a bitingly dark flick - pessimistic and nihilistic rather than simply violent - if the writers and producers stick with established the back story of the BSP. I hope Michelle Forbes returns as Admiral Cain.
Also, I think the movie will count as two episodes of the 22 episode season.
Katee Sackhoff will guest-star in pilot episode of the new and "reimagined" Bionic Woman. Presumably, if the show is picked up, Sackhoff could return as a reoccurring villain. That work would limit her ability to return to BSG.

I think, after having realized that they have failed at creating a believable love quadrangle (sex-square), they will do the thing they wanted to do in the beginning to keep us busy until jan 2008:
Create a love quintet. Or even better a love ~49000-tet. Turning BSG into an awesome new soap. We could call it Bold and Battlestar. Days of our Battlestar. As Galactica Turns About. Angelas de la Battlestar.
Cylons are used heavily of course.
