Message: <blockquote data-quote="evildmguy" data-source="post: 2093520" data-attributes="member: 6092">I remember this old Archie comic from years ago.  It was a simple statement how asking four people their opinion about a movie got four different answers.  (And, of course, Jughead's was about the popcorn not the movie.)  Reading through the Star Wars thread reminded me of that even more.  I like BSG this time around.  I like what they have been doing.  I personally think that Starbuck *isn't* the best strategist, which is why they invited her to the meetings.  I think Adama even said that.  Apollo is probably the better strategist and diplomat but hasn't had a chance to shine, like he did in this episode.  What confused me was Starbuck interrogating the cylon from the last episode.  It didn't seem to work for me.  And, being reprimanded by the President, moments before she shoved him out the airlock, also seemed weird.  However, all of that fit very well in a larger scope of things.  Adama needs officers.  He needs people that he know will do a job well, even if it isn't always by the book.  So, I think he is training her and that's why she is getting all of the attention now.  That's just me, though.  I tend to rationalize things when I like them.  As for the DS9 comments, I didn't have a problem with Nana Visitor's portrayal of Kira when my wife and I watched it on DVD as it came out.  It made sense to me that she was trying hard to show the quadrant that her planet was worthy of what everyone else had.  Now, Terry Farrel's portrayal of Dax, on the other hand, left me cringing.  Again, this is also about how opinion's change.  When I first watched DS9, when it was on the air, I thought Ferrel was doing well and Visitor did need to do something different.  Ah, well.  Have a good one!  Take care!  edg</blockquote>
