The devout template puts your monsters and villains in touch with the divine, granting them a number of interesting and effective abilities related to clerical magic. A devout creature can smite enemies with divine energy, tap into one of the domain powers of his deity, and even heal his wounds with positive energy, all without a single level of cleric.
