My wife, who's finishing up her first run-through of BG3 now, and who has played D&D casually for years, has a lot of questions about D&D now and is clearly going to be coming back to the game with new eyes and a new approach. I cannot imagine she'll be alone in that. Yes. A few references to Descent to Avernus by the characters are unlikely to move a lot of copies of that book. Heck, they could have taken the new plot from Phandelver 1.5 and connected to the nautiloid crash in BG3, slapped a BG3 logo on its cover, and almost certainly moved a bunch of copies that way. If they included a code in the book to unlock a new look for the d20 in BG3, it would have moved even more. (Seriously, I would be A-OK with microtransactions to give me a whole fourth choice for what my d20 looks like.)
