Matt not funneling people into D&D, along with many others is weakening D&D, D&D in turn cannot attract as many new players into the hobby as it used to, and - let's face it - the other TTRPGs have a hard time doing so on their own in the same numbers, so the hobby is shrinking overall.or theoretically any other dominant TTRPG with the marketing power and reach behind it to rival D&D, yes. Granted, this is largely hypothetical, it will be D&D for the foreseeable future, or no onepretty much, the 'a rising tide lifts all boats' theory.
