If WotC cannot manage to get more economic engagement, year by year, it's likely to either be shuttered as an RPG company by the clueless-about-RP-gaming board of HasBro, or sold to someone even less clued in. WotC leaving RPGs behind would not hurt the corporate industry overall, but could severely hurt the cottage side. Most of the corporate side are not entirely tied to 5E. The Corporates include...

Mongoose: most of their money is Traveller these days.
Modiphius: their in-house design all appears to be 2d20 system
EN Publishing: A5E can pick up some 5E slack if WotC drops out of the RPG market.
Free League: only one game in the D&D space... of half a dozen in print
Cubicle 7: Their primaries are licensed, and they're not D&D focused.
Rebellion: given they just bought Tunnels and Trolls, I expect the idea of WotC leaving the industry makes them salivate
FFG: got forced out when bought by Asmodee...
Edge: was given FFG's RPG IPs, but not FFG's RPG staff, by Asmodee, their joint owner. English language suffering. (I don't know, and frankly, don't care, about their Spanish properties
Pinnacle - Savage Worlds is solid in keeping their doors open.
Greater Than Games: They do mostly boardgames, and their RPGs are not tied to D&D
Catalyst: their RPGs are not tied to D&D.
Ulysies Spiele (sp?) - What I've seen from them isn't tied to D&D... but it also wasn't all that good. Might be the translation team, might be the design team, but I'm not invested enough to figure that out.
Pegasus Spiele... what I've seen was excellent... but shut down by GW. I do hope they rerelease the Talisman Adventures engine (which they own) in a new setting under a different name. TA was a blast! Doesn't look tied to D&D at all.
Paizo: Pathfinder and Starfinder will likely benefit from a WotC departure. Dual statted adventures will sell to the old guard as long as enough buy them to pay for the adaptations.
A few seem to have gone dormant, but still have product available in long tail mode... such as

Eden Studios: No new products have I seen from them in years... but their products are still up on DTRPG. BTVS, Angel, Army of Darkness, Ghosts of Albion, Witchcraft, AFMBE, Terra Primate...
Backstage Press - just recently put Theatrix up in PDF.
Amarillo Design Bureau - due to fan discontent, the "Prime Directive One" project put the 1st edition of Prime Directive up on SJG's Warehouse 23 in PDF. It's crunchy, but it's excellent. May hurt new player input in the short term, but it wouldn't hurt the industry's corporate side much.
