You could argue that people will just continue to play old stuff forever, but that isn't true. 80% of the hobby is D&D, because of the industry created by WotC's marketing and reach. There's no getting around that. Take WotC out of it, and player acquisition falls to companies which don't have the resources to do that. Folks get older, they drift out of the hobby, young people are being pulled in by D&D. Take the industry out of it, the hobby slowly becomes the size of fossil collecting. I wish that weren't so, but it is.</p></blockquote><p></p>
