Benefits from Epic Feats

Is Ignore a metamagic feat or a general feat?

I should have HR'ed that sorcerers don't use material components, but I can't go back on it now. Eschew materials looked good, until I realized that if a sorc wanted to do this, it would be a full-round action.

If Ignore is a metamagic feat, it doesn't change things.

Also, is eschew a prereq for Ignore?

Thanks,

Epic feats are Epic feats. There are no distinctions between the types.

You need Exchew Materials, Spellcraft 25 ranks, and ability to cast 9th level spells.

Actually, Telor, there are differences between epic feats, and they are important.

The feat *Eshew Materials* is a metamagic feat so your sorcerer will have to take a 1 round casting time penalty to use it.

The feat *Ignore Material Components* is a "general" epic feat, so your sorcerer can cast all his spells without material components and not take the 1 round penalty.

Note, there are "metamagic" epic feats, those are definately different from the other epic feats, especially for your sorcerer for obvious reasons. Also some feats require that you have a number of metamagic feats (epic or non-epic) to qualify for that feat, so picking a metamagic feat may become important, such as the epic *Improved metamagic* feat, which requires you have knowledge of 4 previous metamagic feats (non-epic or epic).

So basically there are:
--> 1. "general" epic feats
--> 2. metamagic epic feats
--> 3. wild epic feats
--> 4. divine epic feats
--> 5. item creation epic feats

just think of epic feats as normal feats the only difference being that you must be 21st or higher to qualify for them.
