Good. That fits the work to a T-pose then. Gee, I hope I didn't break any review laws. That would be really bad. Well, the credits said Robert Zemeckis, but, I'm pretty sure he was channeling the spirit of Nero. Since I should be more informative in the future I also liked the bit about the big hole in the throat on the dragon where somebody can reach in and pluck out the fireheart (in the throat) and thereby revert the dragon into a golden skinned D&D bastard-son shapeshifter. Epic literature could learn a lot from D&D and I just wish directors and writers, when approaching high art, literature, myth, and poetry would spend more time boning up on their D&D supplements in order to better interpret epic works like that for the evolved sensibilities of a modern audience. And yes, I'm just being facetious. We all know that if modern fantasy had been around when the poet wrote Grendel then he'd have made him a squeaky voiced brace-faced momma's boy with a big, painful acne scar where his wolf-ear should have been. It was just bad luck the poet was born in the wrong era. Because we know more about real art nowadays than ever before. And no, I'm not ragging at you or anyone else Mark. I'm just saying that if somebody is gonna do a cartoon version of Conan overlain on top of Beowulf and then inject sentimentality through the medium of shape-shifting bastard son goes bad and makes pagan hero question his D&D kingship of the land, then at least do Kang the Conqueror. Another real advantage might be at least a passing understanding of the original subject matter. But that's just crazy me. And I've got no problem with changing the story around to make an interesting point, or set of points. Like this: The Missal: Allele - the Mark of Cain But not by ripping off this with wire mesh glowing dragon horn cups and pot-bellied, stick armed Dane kings who preside over frat party drinking binges that leads to fornicating out a golden skinned shape shifting emo dragon boy with a bad-on for his old man.
