Best AIO Module for First time DM

Afternoon, all!

I will subject myself for the mind flaying if this is either a "stupid n00b" or "RTF First Page!" question , but I'm looking to help a friend of mine learn to DM.

  1. Is there a downside to having someone DM a module they have already played as a PC? I've ran Red Box and currently running Harkenstone (I believe) with them, and don't want to necessarily re-invent the wheel or have the other participants be bored to death.
  2. Does anyone have a suggestion for a 4e, AIO (no tiles needed) module that someone can just "plug n play" with a little reading prep?
  3. Where is the cheapest place any of you have found a roll of dry-erase battle map?
Once again, MANY apologies if these are discussed ad nauseum someplace else.

Many thanks, and Tymora bless! =P

This is the right place for this type of question - relax. :) Nobody yells n00b around here.

Well, you might get bored with it. Otherwise, the fact you know it is very useful.

On adventures, this thread might be of use to you, although I don't know how new-DM friendly those adventures are.

The general RPG forum might have tips for #3.

I'd say running a module that you've already been through as a player is great! As Rechan said, the fact that you know it is useful. I personally prefer this when I can get it.

As for a good all-in-one adventure (at least I'm assuming that's what AIO stands for - took me a minute to figure that out), Reavers of Harkenwold from the Dungeon Master's Kit is indeed what I would recommend. It's got poster maps and tokens. Go to town!

As for #3, I have no idea; I'd suggest Amazon by default.
