The second reason (and why the boards continue so strongly) is because this board became the place for d20 system designers and commentators to be.RPG.net is the place to go for general RPG discussions.By their very nature, big boards tend to attract participants from smaller boards: if you are assured of getting feedback to your posts, then things are much better.Personally, I find the forum set-up of 3ebb to be extremely poor - it creates divisions where there isn't enough traffic to warrant them, and popular features like Polls are shunted off to a subforum where you have to really want to vote in one to investigate. Compare to ENworld's structure: ENworld really has only three main D&D discussion forums: General, Rules and House Rules. 3ebb has eight!Although I'm sure the 3ebb gets new members when it does well on the top sites, members will leave when their posts aren't replied to.Cheers!</blockquote>
