Hey, i'm a long, long time fan of BT. But, BT has one big flaw, it's someone else's property. ;-) [OGC rant] Wile we could have created a BT like game at any time (and many have tried), but with the introduction of the OGL the rules set of an immensly popular RPG (D&D) became available for use with any project you can imagine. Enter here the fact that many folks don't really like the MW rpg rules set (i for one still think that the 1st edition MW still has the best flavor), or that folks rather start playing instead of learning another rules set (a lot of folks play or have played D&D3E). Creating a BT style tactical game that interfaces smoothly with the D20 rules and uses many of the same principles would make the life of a lot of folks both more interesting and easier. [/OGC rant] Verbatim is going to be difficult, but your best bet is use Armageddon 2089, it has all the workings of a tactical mech game, and what is a tactical mech game without a hex grid to move your mechs on. D20 future and D20 Mecha both have their own strengths (and weaknesses), their greatest strength is that their more modular, they were made with a generic mech game in mind. And as such it will be easier to make a BT mech with those two rules sets. SO the creation rules atre more flexible, but the A2089 game gives a better feel of the overall game play. So if you could create rules for the components you want to use, you get a better BT feel imho.
