The bursts are per attack, so it's based on how fast the player pulls the trigger. Suppressive fire throws 15 to 25 rounds down range. May not be a realistic account, but not many players want to deal with 500 to 1000 per second. Gets very annoying. :) Nah. Just take into account the weapon (15 or 25 rounds down range) and figure attacks as targets present themselves. Either there are not that many targets or their all low level (our fighter loves the 'mow down' effect). Depends. Most autofire weapons can't be accurately aimed after the first shot. The firing mechanism is sending rounds down range before the previous recoil has settled. Watched an M240G do a flip because the shooter wasn't set. You can direct a cone, but at 1,000 ft or more your not going to be able to put every round in the same person. Haven't seen that yet. The reflex save take effect after the targets been hit. Those with high AC tend to make it through alright. If anything, it goes the other way around. High ref/dex class combos don't like to wear the armors. Tends to make them much more vulnerable. Just my experience though. :) . This does actually make some sense. Those that take cover in time don't get hit, unless it's flimsy cover. Grenades... well, that's a different story. :) Agreed, but you have to define 'close' range, and how often a machine is used at that range in combat. Unless it's an ambush, MG's are engaging targets at 300 to 500 meters or more. The M2 .50 cal has a long enough range to be used as an indirect fire weapon (the shooter doesn't see the target). They don't do it often, but they are trained on how to do it. Sorry for the rant. Was part of a weapons company (81mm, 60mm, M2, MK19, etc). Couldn't let it go. :)
