[QUOTE="hackmastergeneral, post: 3548414, member: 27925"] Running WLD - noone wanted a Cleric, so I decided to make a Healer NPC - they NEEDED healing, but I didn't want to keep track of all the permutations of a Cleric. Healer is great - spontaneous casting, limited weapon/armor selection so you don't have to go through all the "gold bag" problems, and its not designed to be a "melee" class, so she can hang at the back and buff/heal the party - almost runs herself. Gave her the Combat Medic PrC, and it stacks SOOOO well with a Healer its not funny. Next tiem you need to make a walking band aid PRC - check out the Healer, and look closely at the Combat Medic PrC - my players LOVE her, say she's the best NPC character ever. She doesn't get in their way, and she's a better walking band aid than any Cleric could ever hope to be. I'd never want to play one as a PC - far too limited, and always hanging at the back and buffing? Sorry - BO-ORING. But for an NPC, she does almost TOO good a job keeping the party on their feet. With her "add CHA bonus + 1/2 Lvl" to cure spells, her 0-level Cure Minors are useful. Due to the peculiarities of WLD I had to drop her Unicorn Companion - summons' don't work well. BUT this gave me the excuse to beef out her spell list with some good Buff spells that for some reason they didn't include - Bears Endurance Frex, gives more HP and a bonus to FORT - seems natural a Healer would have that. I then took some of the standard Cleric buffs and changed 'em - Healers Prayer grants a bonus to AC ratehr than a bonus to attack/damage. The class would never have a spell that allows someone to hurt/kill something else better, but a buff to AC or CON is worthwhile and within class concept, while depriving enemies of attack/damage ability is also within purvue.
