It lasts 1 minute per level (spectral hand also lasts 1 minute per level).  If the creature touched is reduced to 0 str, it becomes a shadow in 1d4+1 rounds and is permentaly under the control of the caster.  The caster can only control two HD per caster level of shadows at one time, meaning I can control 24 HD of shadows.
