Man, I really like this preview, even though I have little use for drow at the moment. Particularly the hazards and the scythejaw. But then, I'm an eeevil man.

The Spiderbound Drow is an intriguing design. It's a guy monster that brings its own minion (wonder if xp is given for the spider shield?). It also introduces an interesting choice for tactical PCs; leave the minion, and let the Drow's AC remain at -4, or take out something that keeps giving us ongoing damage.

Although, the Phaseweb spider sorta annoys me. That is clearly a Phase Spider. However, I can't help but think that the Phase Spider/Phaseweb should be a fey entity, not related to demons/drow. Not everything spider related needs to be linked to the Drow. (For that matter, what about the Drow and the Feywild?)

Great article. I really liked this one a lot. Tying to the minis I own helps me get more use out of them. I notice they did not have art for the soulrider - maybe they didn't want JarJar comments (see the mini). The art is generally good, but action shots of the monsters would be great too, but that is a tiny nit.

My only beef (and this is nitpicking) is that I'd like to see versions that are suitable for low level play also (though the RPG sides of the cards help with this).

Although, I'm not afraid to level monsters down. However, when attacks are doing 2-3 die of damage, it does make things a little hairier.

Nice article, except for lacking low level versions of creatures, in special the deathcap.

Anything in the article about the Runespiral Demon or the Soul Rider Devil? I was wondering what the gist of those two fiends was?

yes, the soulrider is actually some kind of parasite that attaches itself to a host (not a bad JarJar creature).

There is a picture of the soulrider devil; its in the splash artwork on the first page.

There's a lot of great monsters in this adventure. My favorites are the two monsters that incorporate their own minions, the soulrider devil and the spiderbound drow warrior. The explosive scythe jaw is a nasty surprise too.
