Volume Three of Big Bang: The Mostly Illustrated RPG Guide to Modern Weapons is now available. This volume, the fourth in the series, presents an in-depth look at the weapons produced as part of the Army Future Combat Systems initiative. Along with providing extensive historical and technical information on each weapon, the Big Bang series provides weapon statistics for a number of OGL and Royalty-free licensed systems, plus all the real world data you need in order to generate statistics for systems not covered by the series.

This new volume, a bit undersized at 50 pages, is priced at the low cost of $3.00. In addition, for new buyers of the series, the previous three volumes of the series are on sale at 33% off for the next two days.

Just out of curiosity, does it have stats for the Spycraft/Stargate version of d20? Despite being almost 500 pages, the Stargate RPG only has a few guns, missing many featured on the show.

(The weapon stats in it are a bit different than other versions of d20, for instance, a M-16 does 4d4+2 damage. And weapons have various qualities)

Just D20 Modern stats. However, to adapt to the W/V system in Spycraft and Stargate, just add an extra die to what you roll of damage. (the M16 would go from 2d8 damage in D20M to 3d8 damage). However, between the various game systems presented, plus existing decisions by WotC's D20M authors in regards to adapting D20M to Spycraft, it is very easy to do what you want.

Weapon quality is generally represented by special rules listed in the D20 stat section for the weapon. If those are insufficient, you could easily represent quality by "dropping in" rules related to weapon stats for other game systems. The CyberThriller system provides rules for weapon reliability (how of the gun jams) based on an X in 10 chance of the gun jamming under certain situations, like critical misses. From the Action! statistics, you can drop in weapon accuracy (replacing any D20 equipment bonuses to the attack roll), giving an attack modifier range of -3 to +3 (or use the CyberThriller accuracy with a range of +7 to -7 and beyond).

There is a free sampler available on both RPGnow and the company store, so you can take a look at it without making a blind purchase.

Since there have been quite a few questions regarding Spycraft compatibility, I guess I'll have to start adding a set of those stats as well.

I assume this the same as Big Bang: The Mostly Illustrated RPG Guide to Firearms Vol 3.

Also, I tried your link to your online store and it didn't work. :(

Yes, it is the same. Unfortunately, the RPGnow site doesn't provide a sufficiently size field in the database to support the entire title, so I had to be a bit creative and put it under a mostly identical name that would be blindly assumed by most folks to be the same book without ever being noticed.

I just tested the posted storefront link myself and it works just fine. Unfortunately, the download link is on the fritz. It's a bit too hard to download a pdf when the link points to a jpg... I'll fix it momentarily.

LOL
