The Doctor shows up in London on V-E day and there is much celebrating. He runs into Nancy who who is sad and depressed. The Doctor asks her what is wrong because there is so much to celebrate and she says her son was killed in the final months of the war by a V-2 Rocket. The Doctor discovers while he is there some alien plot/problem (it is Dr. Who of course) and just like before Nancy helps him solve the problem. Already having two alien experiences with the Doctor and nothing left for her in the "present" because her son is dead she agrees to join the Doctor. This then also solves the anoying problem Rose (as much as I like her) always dealing with her mom and home life.</p></blockquote><p></p>
