that was so deapan, I was taking you seriously for a minute.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)"  data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" />Another thing I was thinking of was to have a decent animal companion.  After all, we’ve got the shadowdancer with 6 shadows (each with class levels!) and the paladin with his dragon mount… and wife, and did I mention that one player now has 2 characters for some reason?  And I’ve got jack squat.The other ranger in our party (now dead) had a dire wolf – just an ordinary dire wolf.  Somehow the thing made it through about a dozen game sessions, but that thing bought it when we got stuck fighting an avatar of lolth (thanks overzealous paladin).  So, I want something more – a maxed out HD animal or dire animal for a companion would be a start – and give him some permanent spells and/or magic items.  Beyond that, I’m also going to request stuff that a 2E ranger might have for companions – you remember, NPCs, fey, and magical beasts!  Any ideas there?Another thing I forgot to ask about – I was totally lazy on buying even just mundane gear for this guy.  Every single item he is carrying is listed above – I didn’t even buy a backpack.  <img src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/joypixels/assets/8.0/png/unicode/64/1f609.png" class="smilie smilie--emoji" loading="lazy" width="64" height="64" alt=";)" title="Wink    ;)"  data-smilie="2"data-shortname=";)" />  suggest some simple mundane non-magical stuff I could benefit from without being encumbered by it?</blockquote>
