Based on a DC comic book. It's like Gotham City's Charlie's Angels ... without Charlie, or Batman for that matter.
A female trio ... a crippled Batgirl (Barbara Gordon) who now goes by the name of Oracle, is a computer expert and the brain of the group, a younger version of The Black Canary, and the daughter of Catwoman.
For more information on the upcoming series, I guess the following link is a good place to start:
Batman is gone, catwoman is dead, Batgirl is shot and paralyzed by the Joker and wants to train bat and cat's daughter to fight crime -though she seems pretty good at it already, and a new girl comes to gotham who has some snazzy powers who wants to join them - oh and alfred is still alive and kicking somehow....(I think he's a robot )
I'm vaguely optomistic over this. It looks appealing and entertaining. I liked the first BoP limited series and liked the second until they used Lady Shiva as a throw away baddie. The basic idea should translate well to TV as long as they don't give it the same treatment comic books got in the Hulk movies.
You mean those Hulk TV-movies that tries to spin off such characters as Thor and Daredevil? Yeah, that was pretty bad. It's not really the last image of the late Bill Bixby ("Bruce Banner") you want to treasure.
If anything, they'll probably ride on the coattail of Smallville or Angel.
