Rob Schwalb, Green Ronin's d20 Line Developer and lead designer of the Black Company Campaign Setting, will be posting a series of designer's journals on the GR website over the next few weeks. Rob will be talking about the process and challenges of taking a classic fantasy series like the Black Company and adapting it to the d20 System. The first installment is up now. You can read it here:

That is very interesting, however, it just makes me want this book all the more. I hope it is out on the street this month. The BlackCompanyd20 Yahoogroup has even had traffic in anticipation.

Once again a Green Ronin product lands on my "Must Buy" List. I've got two more books in the series to read. I'm looking for to this. I'm glad you'll are doing this one.

I have been reading and re-reading the novels since 1984 when an older girlfriend (one Laurielle Miller, who had a limited fame in Games Workshop's White Dwarf magazine--anyone who thinks her letters to the 'Dwarf were wild, well :D ) suggested I read them. I have found that many women like this series as well, a lot. It would be interesting to see which Green Ronin product, Black Company or Blue Rose, interests the most female gamers. Black vs Blue or White Rose vs Blue Rose.

It's heading to print this week and then we'll see. The good news is that we're not doing the BC book in China (as that takes about two months with shipping and customs and so on). So at worst it'll be December.

I just read this; cool. I was poking around the GR site looking for release dates for this and Thieves' World, neither of which I could find. Any ETAs for those, even if they're only ballpark guesstimates?

Thieves' World is next summer. BC will be late November or December depending on how fast the printer does the job.
