Brust is the king of the well-formed sentence. Cook is the master of plain speaking. Erikson rambles, but his vision is so unbelievably broad, so immense in scope, that anywhere he goes you find something to fascinate.
Well, I checked Borders over lunch, and they didn't have a single Erikson book. I almost picked up Robin Hobb's Assasain Apprentice, but the line was too long, so I held off.

I'm just looking for a good fantasy novel, and Erikson sounds like he's worth a shot. Either that, or I'll get that Fritz Leiber collection I've been thinking about. I've never actually read any of Fafhrd & the Grey Mouser, and I really have been meaning to.

Actually Erikson isn't published in the U.S. yet but they should be reasonably priced if you order them from amazon.ca (Canada). The first book will see U.S. publication this summer, June I think.

The Garrett P.I. series is GREAT fun. Sometimes it does get a bit dark but Garrett is generally a very amusing loudmouth. :)
