as you can see up above i was looking to use this weapon in a D&D game two of them i was looking for some fighting techs i could use and would whirl wind be a good feat for this weapon and what would be the damage a 1d6/ 1d4 or a 1d4/1d2 or a 1d6/1d2

If the size is the same as a regular tonfa I would say 1d6 peircing. Its not large enough to double weapon and looks to be designed more for stabbing then slashing.

Just my opinion. I have personally loved tonfa's as a weapon due to utility and technique used with them.

I agree. The way to get two-weapon damage with this would be to actually use two of them.

I'd give them shortsword stats, but make them exotic and give you a +1 shield bonus to AC when using 2 of them (stacking with TWD). Also allow a monk to use them as special monk weapons if they take EWP with them.

If you're going to be wielding that like a normal tonfa, I'd hate to club anyone with the lower edge, since you'd be cutting the bottom of your own arm from wrist to elbow every time. :)

That said, it's not any goofier than some of 3e's double weapons.

Yup, ya got that right. Certainly better than the lynxpaw from RotW. I know it's silly, but if you want a weapon like that, I don't see any reason to let reality get in the way. You've seen Hellboy, right? The undead assassin that dual-wields those is really cool.

CMIIW, but don't most tonfa attacks with the long end involve flipping it out in a sideways spinning motion? As depicted, you'd be whacking them with the flat of the blade. Wouldn't it make more sense (and solve the shredded forearm problem) to have the handle stick out of the flat side, instead of out of the edge (90 degrees from where it is now)?

Kroenen, in D&D terms, is basically a nimblewright with haste .
