So it's been nearly 2 months since I last posted to this thread. We've had about 10 sessions since then, and things have really progressed. The Crew has become very embroiled in the major happenings in the district where they operate. Their early reluctance to fight seems to have faded as the realization has set in that if you want something, you pretty much have to take it from someone else. So they've been smart and they've paid up to the gang in charge of their district to help keep their standing. They're flooding the streets with a supernatural drug called "Third Eye", which has many gangs talking. They're working on establishing sales to the University and also the city's elite. They're nearly at war with the Red Sashes, another gang, and they've swiped some territory from them, a vice den and some turf. Things got a bit bloody on their last few scores, so their wanted level has spiked, so the entanglements are starting to get more serious. Each of the PCs has now taken some amount of harm, and we've had our first Trauma come into play, and I think one or two more will quickly follow. Especially once the other players see how Trauma can actually help you gain XP. I have to say, the way the game is set up, everything feeds into the fiction. Everything that happens changes the game state to some degree....the fiction of the world moves forward in a natural way, and this gives the play group more to draw from. After the first couple of sessions, I haven't had to come up with a Score for the crew since. They decide on their own goals and tell me what they want to do, and we go with that. There's just so much for them to pick from what's been established in the game. All I do for prep is to try and have an idea of the possibilities, and to give them some thought ahead of time. I remain aware of the Factions that are involved, and the relevant NPCs and other details. The game is very fun and incredibly engaging. My group is loving it, and each of them is enjoying their character.
