Blind Monk

I'm thinking about making monk for a character, but I was going to give him a twist: he's blind. Are there any feats or sections from any books that heighten other senses (I know blind-fight is in the PHB, but perhaps some others?). I know, blindness is a huge disadvantage, but I think it's a neat concept for a character. Perhaps there is some kind of trade-off system, where blindness gives you obvious penalties, but other things give you improved traits or abilities... What do you think?

Well, you could ask your DM to make blindsense an availible feat after a certain point. Maybe allow you to take scent as a first level feat, then tremorsense and then Blindsense. I would say the Blindsense shoul;d be last however. Maybe force BLindfight to be first.

You could consider it a flaw as per Unearthed Arcana. So at first level you could get blindfight or scent.
