Blink Dog as mount

The description of the Blink Dog says that its Dimension Door "affects only the blink dog,". So if the dog has a rider, the rider is left hanging in the air after the dog ports away?

Or you could rig up a bag of holding for a saddle and ride from there...

If it can, then the dog could not carry another living creature with it. So what if you were playing a lich or some other type of undead/construct? Then it wouldn't be taking a living creature with it, only a sentient object. Therefore would it be treated as though it were carrying an intelligent weapon? If so, then a way has been found for infinite dimensional doors.

Undead and constructs are creatures, not objects. They get left behind.

A destroyed undead or destroyed construct is an object.

A similar situation can occur when a large party has to teleport out of a sure death situation.

a teleport spell could take 6 of the seven party members, if one kills themself another party member could carry them as gear, rather than having them count as another creature. Raise the person the next day.

Yeah, it leaves the rider behind. If you want the rider to go along, you might create some sort of magical saddle which allows the rider to blink with the dog.

I don't think you can raise gear.
