Hello, I'm hacking the D&D (3.5) rules to create a campaign based loosely on early Germanic tribes and the later downfall of the Burgundian kingdom at the hands of the huns. Here is what I have so far. And I'd like your feedback to hone it :D Note that there is an intentional power disparity between Norns (see Classes under the Character Creation Rules) and non-magic wielding classes, as well as between tribesmen and peoples from the Eastern empire. Blood of Kings is specifically about the tribesmen, so the rules are applied to model their viewpoint (thus, the honor of Easterners is determined by tribal standards, for instance). So, to clarify, balance of power between Norns and other characters isn't much of a concern. Ditto Eastern magi and other Easterners. That said, every possible character type has its advantages and disadvantages. . . I plan on going back to edit the section on Norns to better reflect this, allowing them to choose spells only from the Bard, Cleric, Druid lists -- with the Sorcerer/Wizard lists being confined to Eastern magi. Anyhow, yeah. . . I'd sure appreciate your input here! :)
