So I have created a little Word doc over the last couple of weeks for an uncoming face-to-face game that I am planning on running on running. Just maybe looking for a little feed back on what people think. NOTE that I am the worlds' worst speller and grammer dude, so be forwarned ;) Also yes I tweaked lots and lots of stuff, and the 'heroes' are going to be a bit more powerful than they might normally be with Blue Rose. I debated a lot about Magic and stuff, but in the end, I think that there was enough examples here and there to allow Adapts (non-Elf ones that is). A lot of this is based off of Decipher's LotR game also. I just don't like much of that system. But this also means that the Races are not 100% balanced. I am not sure what to do about that but to warn the players before and make sure everyone knows about this. They are a very good group so I am not to worried about uber-muckie stuff ;) And here is sort and an intro that I am using for the game (NOTE also that I am not much of a purist as it were so I am not super worried about all the 'facts' being 100% correct. I know more about the LotR then the people I am playing with so :D) BRIEF HISTORY AND BACKGROUND This game will be set in the Third Age 1641, almost fifteen hundred years before the War of the Rings and some sixteen hundred years after the War of the Last Alliance when Isildur cut the one-ring from Sauron hand at the base of Orodruin (Mount Doom). The northern land of Arthedain, last of Elendil's Kingdom of Arnor, is threatened by the might of the Witch-King of Angmar. The great plague devastated the lands only five short years ago; in places almost a third of the populations was killed over the course of two years. Now Worgs and Orcs have increasingly raided along the borders, and the few traveling peddlers whisper tales coming out of the lands of Cardolan of a new ‘Red Magi’ who has arising adding 'his' might to the brutality of the 'Warlord'. The King of Arthedain, Argeleb the 2nd, is desperate... if something is not done, and soon, all that he has been trying to hold together could be lost. With only a few loyal knights and local militia, the King has come to rely more and more on his 'Rangers' - warriors of follow the old Dúnedàin Codes; to protect the northlands and the kingdom of Isuldur, to oppose the Enemies of Man, and the aid their comrades at all cost. Not everyone trusts these man and woman though, for they tend to keep to themselves and act without permission from local authorities, instead acting in the 'best interest of all'. As if these burdens were not enough for the King, his second daughter, Adarawin, has disappeared. It is whispered that she might well have been kidnapped by agents of this ‘Red Magi’ and spirited away to the lands under the control of the Black Troll known as the Warlord. Secretly then the King as assemble a group of heroes to investigate her disappearances, to sneak into the chaotic lands of Cardolan, discover if the girl is truly there and if so, rescue her and return her to her father… So begins the dark chronicles of the Grey Seekers EDIT: ok I updated some stuff where I made mistakes. I forgot that Corruption was a Fort test NOT a will save so I changed that. I changed some names and re-worked some of the descriptions that I was wrong about. REMEMBER folks I am not much of a Tolkeen scholar, so if you see where I have made a mistake, let me know. I will not be hurt by the fact that I am ignorate ;)
