Has anyone tried the Arcane Swordsage varient replaceing maneuvers with spells?

If so, how did it work?

Thanks
Andras

Hi, is the variant in the Bo9S? or a different book?

Thanks,
Rich

I have not used it, but my gut feeling is that it would be overpowered. IMO, it would be more balanced if the spell level progression capped at level 6 spells, like a bard.

Hi Nakada, where is the variant?

Thanks,
Rich

rgard, it's right there in the swordsage class writeup. Bo9S page 20.

Personally I think it's too vague to really say anything about. Its effectiveness would be entirely a function of which spells are available to it. That said, unless you're pretty strict on the spell list it seems a bit much. Sorc/wiz spells, at the same level a wizard gets them, and it only takes a full-round action to re-prepare them? Plus all those other benefits like +Wis to AC, evasion, 6 skill points/level, etc...

Hey Gloombunny, thanks!!! I don't have the book with me, so wasn't certain if it was in a different book. Thanks again!

Yeah, you'd have to provide a really restricted, combat-centric set of spells.

I don't think it's worth the trouble.
