BOED Diety Question

I was looking through the Book of Exalted Deeds at the cleric domain and saw the Herald domain and was interested in it. It references "Barachiel" as a diety. Where might I find info on this diety? I thought it would be in that book, but did not find it. Anybody know where to find it?

Barachiel is a celestial paragon, specifically a ruler of the First Heaven of Celestia, I believe.......he's described right in the book itself. :)

Barachiel is one of the Stewards of Heaven found in the book. The domains assume that you are allowing clerics to gain divine spells through the veneration of the Lords of Good as well as via good deities.

Demiurge out.

So...I can select that as a domain so long as I worship a "good" diety, then?

You can take that domain as long as you worship one of the gods (or celestial paragons) referenced in it's "Deities" line.

Alternately, if you are a cleric without a god, you can select that and one other domain of your choice (alignment differences for alignment domains notwithstanding).

I would say that's strictly in the purview of the DM, but provided the DM buys the BoED variant on the issue, yes, that's the idea.
