Actually, I would buy a book if it seriously dealt with romance, love, even lust (a little). I would do so especially if it went so far as to include character motivation and application in a fantasy setting with historical background relevant to medieval Europe. A mature book with details on courtship, marriages, expectations of brides and grooms etc. and then hooks and plots along with suggested scripting of certain events would have been awesome. The problem with the Book of Elf Porn is that, while it may have some of this, it threw in a bunch of photoshopped elf porn as well as stuff that goes beyond romance and into fetishism. It did so with such fanfare/controversy and what I considered immature attitude, that I cannot overlook or forgive it. A rational, historical and truly mature look at love and courtship would have been on my to-buy list, but the BoEF failed to be that right out of the gate, with that initial press release. Also, I'm sort of miffed at how I perceive Valterra's attitude toward WotC to be and how he felt, and also how another person associated with the project felt, about the controversy the infamous press release caused. Because of this I simply will not purchase BoEF or any other book from Valar. So, in light of that I chose the name of the book would not have impacted my decision. It's the content of the book, the circumstances in which it was introduced to us in and the subsequent attitude of Valar that I object to. Oh, and Ditto to what BigFreekinGoblinoid said.
