Yes, I've blown off some steam at Nutkinland before. I tried to be humorous about it without bashing these boards in the process, but the conversation Tef linked to on the Valar boards really does show a lack of consideration for many of the people here. However, as long as we're quoting other boards here, in the same thread Tef linked to, Thundershot writes: I completely agree with Thundershot in this. This book will work for some, but not all, and I can respect that. I honestly wasn't impressed with the pictures that I saw in the preview at Gen Con, and I plan on giving this one a miss, but I can say that if there is a market for this kind of book then AV has every right to go out and find it. Somehow I don't think that much of that audience will be found on these boards, but then I could be wrong. There is something to be said for guilty pleasures, and I'm sure that more than a few people here will indulge themselves just because of all the buzz, whether it be welcome or not. As for the constant and deliberate spamming of a community message board's main page in order to promote any product, I do have a problem with that. Now, by saying this, some might consider my statements somewhat hypocritical. I mean, I do plug Bastion Press products, especially Oathbound products, when it seems appropriate to do so. I also dropped into the discussion on the Book of Exalted Deeds somewhat frequently to try to make sure it was portrayed accurately. I'm not the only one who does this when a new product is released. On the other hand, I don't go out there and continually bump threads, create new threads and pointless polls about those products just to keep discussions about my works on the front page. There is a difference, and I think that this is something that should become a moderator issue if it continues. I'm not saying this out of any dislike for the people involved, or the book itself, but rather because there is a forum established for publishers and their products. Threads started in general discussion simply for the purpose of promoting books should probably end up being moved if the discussion is simply guerilla marketing. AQ, I would kindly request that if you are truly interested in being part of the wonderful community here, that you do in fact give it a rest. If you choose not to, then I would encourage others reading this to stop responding to threads started by this individual about this book and simply let the two or three posters involved in this have their own private conversation without dragging everybody else into it.
