Book of Names

Troll Lord

First Post
Hello all!

We've put a wrap on the Gary Gygax's Extraordinary Book of Names. It is off to Gary for a final look over and then to the printer!

It turned out, well, extraordinary, nothing like it has been seen before. There really are over 100,000 names in it. I'll post a few pdfs in the coming days with the TOC and some sample pages.

You definately want to check this puppy out!

Just make sure they are neatly organized by gender and region/culture (even if fictional), and includes meaning/definition. Also, I'd like a layman's instruction on naming convention for Romans, Japanese, Chinese, Rohirrim, etc., to be used in a psuedo-historical fantasy counterpart games.

I've been looking forward to this for a while now. :) I'm really curious to know how it turns out! I know it will definitely be very useful for me and a lot of other people.

Despite my good-natured ribbing above, from the preview that Troll Lords posted on their site, this looks very well done. I could definately see this as being something that I'll pick up that will likely remain a long-time useful reference in my collection.

The sad thing is . . .

You know what's rather sad, Davis and I were working over the Castle Zagyg logo for Peter the other day and I made some comment about the name itself. Davis then informed me that it was Gygax backwards with the "z" replacing the "x". All this time, all these discussions about Zagyg over all these years . . . I had no idea. lol

But thin agaain, I's int too quick in the smarts dee-partment, be-in from Arrrrkanssass and all!

LOL
