That looks very cool. However, I wonder if they should have the submissions open 'til after PHB2 is released next month, since that book may have some new takes/twists on Rituals that might inspire the submissions authors, as well as avoiding duplication (though I assume the publisher will have a few more months before editing is done to check this).

This open call isn't just about the rituals submitted. It's also about finding a pool of motivated, qualified, enthusiastic 4E authors. The final published Book of Rituals will reflect material appropriate to all products released up to that point (including PHB2). Some of that material will be written by folks who submitted awesome rituals before the open call ended, and were subsequently commissioned to write more.
