Book of Roguish Luck

Ya, I'm interested to see how they do the luck mechanic. I've seena few of them in products in the past and none have really made me want to use them.

Not only a new book, but I just noticed Monte's new site design. I sweat I was looking at it earlier today while at work, so he must have just changed it today.

The new look isn't bad, except the home page (index). It doesn't scale with browser window size, so it'll look to small on most browsers -- and it isn't even centered.

The Book of Roguish Luck has me more hot 'n' bothered & breathing heavy than a teen in a back seat on Lover's Lane...!

"Schwing" might be appropriate.... :)

Hmmm. Past d20 efforts by Wolfgang Baur have left me sort of lukewarm (outside of BCD, which is sort of a less mechanical book). I'm, um, aprihensive? Its that the right word.

To be fair, it has been a while since I reviewed a work of his I didn't like, and they were both strong on the story aspect (which is good), it's just the mechanical aspect didn't keep pace.

Yeah, alas, I'm with you on this one, Psion. The idea for the book sounds great, but the author worries me. However, I have to admit I have liked everything I've read out of Malhavoc, and I can't imagine Monte and Sue would let a bad product out the door...

It's his work on the Green Ronin products right?

Well, hopefully working at Malhavoc, the editors there wil lreign in any unusual bonuses and powers.

Yes. To be clear, he did the Assassin's Handbook (which wasn't blatantly overpowered so much as mechanically ham fisted... "throw in this ability three times a day here and one three times a day there, and we'll call it a PrC.") and the College of Necromancy (which was blatantly overpowered.) Despite that, they were both good reads. The guy can write.

Like I said. It's been a few years since then. Perhaps he's got a bit better in the interim. Heck, I can think of one author I savaged back in the day who is now one of the strongest mechanical authors out there. (I forgive you for Raw Recruits, Chuck. ;) )
