Book of the Righteous...

Anyone else interested in this one? I only recently read the ad in the recent Dragon mag, and it piqued my interest immediately. Seems Green Ronin is putting out some cool stuff. I like the "generic" factor.

I don't have the other Arcana series by them yet. Any recommendations?

It looks great! Hurry over to greenronin.com and download the sneak preview-.pdf. Maal is way cooler than St C. I'm getting it for sure and I will give the iconic gods the boot. (If the rest of the gods are as intriguing as Maal, that is.)

No past experience with the Arcana books eh? There are only two out so far and both are worth having. Socities and Secret College of Necromancy. There's a nice bonus downloard for Socieites as well. Adds some depth to that setting.

FYI, we're going to do a second preview as the release date approaches (it's at the printer now). This time we're going to show you an entire church, so you can see the format and depth of these organizations.

Stay tuned!

Just wanted to pop in and say that if you want to find out a little more about the upcoming book, the author, Aaron Loeb, has been very willing to discuss the contents of the book and his philosophy while designing it. He's got a couple of threads going about the book over on the Green Ronin forums.

This has been my most highly anticipated product for quite a while now. I was quite disappointed in Deities and Demigods and Faiths and Pantheons. I don't need deity stats. I want information on the church organizations, and a cleric type class for each deity, and a paladin/holy warrior for each (and not necessarily as PrC's- I prefer variant core or base classes, as GR did with the Necromancer in Secret College). It looks like the Book of the Righteous will provide exactly what I'm looking for. And being 320 pages, I'm sure there will be plenty of what I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words, all!

In this thread on the GR site:

http://www.greenronin.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?topic=207&forum=4&3

there's more info on the main gods covered in the book. Their names and their "portfolios" are listed.

To give you an idea of the scope of the project, the web preview of the church of Maal that's up now is just 2 of the 10 pages the church receives in the book (all with that level of "text density").

I'll happily answer any q's you might have about the book. It will be at Gen Con and available in stores this August. Thanks again for the kind words.

Aaron

Sweet!

Wow. That's what I love about these boards: Even the publishers respond! When I read the ad in Dragon, I said to myself "This sounds like what I need." Then I read it again, and the quote "We don't waste time with stats..." REALLY drove it home for me.

Thanks for the tips, guys!!
