Books Like Beast Builder but For Races...

Scribble

First Post
Hey all...

Does anyone know of any books out there that are like A Magical Society: Beast Builder, but intended for creating new races?

I really like how BB works, and cuts everything down into non professional game designer speak. :) And wants something similar to help me design some races for an upcoming campaign...

Any thoughts?

I found the race creation cookbook by LPJ pretty good. http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=10697&

Aasimar and tiefling has a decent but conservative LA calculator feature but only for certain types of characters http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=4746&

Yeah I saw that one... It seemed interesting, but I'm not sure I want to go the route of point based creation... Not that it's a bad thing, but what I really liked about BB was that it explained the effect certain choices had on the power level of the creature, and its game effects...

I've used these two to calculate LA for races, not as a sourcebook for possible race power options.

I found Beast Builder to be useful for giving exact text of special abilities but pretty much bailing on evaluating everything for the assigning of a CR.
