Intro and Character options for the 7th Sea game! The Sea Star was four days out of Avalon, sailing west around the edge of Montaigne when she was caught by a storm. Captain Morgan was a seasoned sailor and his crew skilled. Together they weathered the storm for two days. The Sea Star was a stout vessel, and while utterly off course the ship was still in sailing shape. At long last the sky began to lighten. Suddenly, as the ship crested a wave, and prepared to race down it’s side, another ship emerged from the storm. It came up fast, black sails and a black pirate flag flying, and from its course helmed by a madman. Over the crash of the waves came the blast of cannons. Timbers burst, masts fell and the Sea Star tumbled to her doom. A few members of the passengers and crew clung to the wreckage while the storm blew away. As dawn rose over clear skies and calm seas the exhausted survivors found themselves being carried by the current towards land. The last thing the survivor saw ere they washed ashore on this island was the tall mast of a ship pulling into a small cove. A mast flying a black flag. After lying peacefully on the Sands for an unknown period of time you feel your strength returning. You set up taking stock of what you can salvage from the wreckage and who else survived. The survivors may include: An Eisen Priest, of the new (and according to some, heretical, Objectionist faith); A Swordsman from Castillian, clearly a member of one of dueling societies; A Montaigue Swordsman, from the famed Valroux fencing school; A member of the Explorer’s Guild, famed for risking life and limb for ancient treasure; The ship’s cook, a large and dangerous looking person from the wilds of Vesten; An unusually small person from Ussura, the gunner’s mate; One of the topsmen, a quick and nimble person who works high on the ship’s rigging; And the ship’s first mate, a well spoken, educated fellow from Vodacce. If my player’s would send their first and second preferences to me via Email, I’ll try to get character sheets to folks this week. Character sex can be either male or female, if you have a preference, let me know. (email is username with 3 extra o's at yahoo.com) If you aren’t familiar with 7th sea: Eisen = Germany just after 30 yrs war Castille = Spain during 16th century Montaigue = France under Louis 14th Ussura = Russia under Ivan the terrible Vodacce = Venice Vesten = Vikings/Norse Avalon = England, after the sinking of the ‘castillian armada’ If you are – No sorcerous characters, too much for unfamiliar folks to learn. Castille and Montaigue, and Montaigue and Ussura are not yet at war. Although that may change within the year. The rest of history, setting, canon, etc – irrelevant for a one shot about ship wrecked survivors and pirates!
