BoTR in Scarred Lands?

Has anyone converted/ported over the gods, PrCs, and other goodies from Book of the Righteous to the Scarred Lands? I have some ideas in mind but if someone's already done the work and is willing to post.

Wow. The scarred lands cosmology is pretty rigorous and well defined as it is. How do you plan to do that without playing whack-a-mole with the changes that you would have to make?

I kind of have to agree with Alan/Psion. The cosmology and set up for the Scarred Lands is kind of hard to mess around with. Mainly BECAUSE religions haven't had time to set up churches, define myths (Too many to COUNT and whose myths do you use?), or even set up any other Pr-classes that aren't already in use for some of the gods.

It's a nice idea Joe. But I just don't see it working out too well.

Corean - Terak
Madriel = Morwyn
Tanil = Thellyne
Hedrada = Maal
Enkili = Zheenkeef
Chardun = Naran
Belsameth = Darmon (Still working on this one)
Vangal = Canarak
Denev = Rotra/Anwyn

I've also mapped out some of the demi-gods and some of the titans. It's by no means a perfect match, but there are some benefits to augmenting the Scarred Lands with some of the ideas like the Holy Warriors. I mean look at Corean. This guy's got something like Three PrCs for his church. Maal is interesting in that he doesn't have a champion of his own, but has a champion of the gods. Since SL gods are still not warring openly against one another, perhaps Hedrada has something similiar in his role as lawmaker.

In addition, I like the idea of a Church Pantheon bit. The SL Divine & Defeated mentions that many warriors give praise to Vangal in the heat of battle, for example so a Church where they all are worshipped in some of their aspects isn't impossible.

I'll grant you SOME of it works Joe. I guess for me, since the panethon is pretty well defined and not needing much, it's easy to keep certain things separate. Also not every Coreanic priest works the same way. Some might be defenders, others forger workers as well as healers.

I will grant you the "Call on Vangal" thing for some warriors, but Vangal isn't the only they call in battle. Corean, for courage and strength. Chardun, for the might in battle. Vangal though is pure bloodlust.

(btw it's four and half if you count the Keepers of the Flame, though they also serve Madriel as well)

Hedrada followers tend to be paladins as well as preists. They might call on Corean for his favor, (since he's the god of Paladins) but they favor the Justice aspect or Judgement aspect of Hedrada.

I'm actually in the process of snagging ideas from BotR for my campaign. In particular, what I'm using has to do with one of my PCs, a cleric of Madriel who is part of the Order of the Morning Sky. I've been scouring the sections on Morwyn for help in designing temples, giving titles to the high priests, writing up dogma, etc. I've also been looking at Mormekar for the anti-undead feel for the Order.

While I do agree that it would be a serious undertaking to convert many of the gods over (and could possibly hurt the whole divine/titanic cosmology), I believe that Book of the Righteous has plenty of juicy bits to snatch and steal for a SL campaign. That's what I'm doing.

Well go for then Ruined. While I love BotR I guess I just am hesistant to mess TOO much with the comosology. Landscapes, cityscapes and other stuff, sure but not the Gods or the Titans.

The Divine and the defeated was pretty bad-ass. But you (or at least I) got the feeling that it was kind of like the Cliffs Notes version.
I like a lot of the stories like the one about the origin of Coreanic Steeds. Legends which don't involve any major part of history or earthshattering events but which allow you to (at the least) present the god's character or nature in the form of a short fable. I don't know of the BoR has that sort of stuff but it can only strengthen a game.

The gods-as-pantheon thing is tough to get through to the players. Joseph's post on the Pyschic Warrior thread was illumiating (to paraphrase: divine knowledge is an expression of gods tapping into -each--other's knoweldge!)
that represents a pretty deep connection if Corean is unconciously (?not the right word I mean not-deliberately I suppose?) tapping into Chardun's knowledge of torture.

If you think about the the 8 are an extreemly tightly-nit pantheon; but since they are the only pantheon there is a lack of "oppposition" to them.
The greek pantheon only really makes sense when there are other things compair them too. (the titans don't work in my mind to this)

But both players and supplements are loath to have this happen. Every single published book so far makes a point of talking about how nobody (in either Hollowfaust or Mithril anyway) goes to an evil shrine except as lip-service, etc.

I -wouldn't- add a church like this in myself but I've wrestled a lot with allowing either a preist of multiple gods (NG and the three good gods) or a sort of new religious cult with access to 1st and 2nd level spells.
I really like the cult idea actually. my game already has a lot going on though.
Maybe a prestige class where people pray to different gods for different spells. It would be hard for the gods to object.
