Ah, what the heck. I'll go ahead and give a useful reply.... NUDITY IN MY GAMES: Sometimes you're caught off guard. Sometimes you catch someone else off guard. Stripping you of everything can be a form of humiliation. You have to bathe, and when you do, wow is that the worst time for an ambush. I've had a player come through a fight while bathing, having dropped several baddies, and the visual of him stepping out of the river clad in nothing but blood and gore was just awesome. Not necessarily for me, but the look on the other's faces was just priceless. No harm in it. NUDITY IN MY BOOKS: Conservative, and I'm ok with it. Think early early playboy mag type nudity. In regards to my literary nudity, also conservative. SEX IN MY GAMES: All behinds the scenes. It's talked about, but it isn't roleplayed out at the table (those d4's dig into your back and it hurts like hell :D). SEX IN MY BOOKS: Mostly behind the scenes. I.E., not smut, but occasionally, my literature might border on that. I've been known to get a little "showey", I believe it was called, but it's still done in good taste. Basically, in my literature, I make it obvious that sex is happening and I do my best to convey the reactions and state of mind of both, or all, parties involved. NECROPHILIA: Behind the scenes, just like regular ol' sex. Might still happen from time to time with a really wicked NPC of mine, but still behind the scene or as something the PCs hear about while gathering info on said NPC. Hell, they might just surprise the NPC in the act. You never know. Actually, I've written up an NPC that practices necrophilia, but there's a really wicked little twist. The soul of the body feels it, whether they want to or not, no matter where the soul is. That kinda borders into the rape area too, but since it wasn't listed in the first post, I'll go ahead and add it to mine. BESTIALITY: Maybe as shock value or something. I don't know. The most I would incorporate it into a game is as a rumor you hear about an NPC or something. INTER-SPECIES SEX: Again, behind the scenes, but in regards to species, whatever floats your boat. That goes for both NPCs _and_ PCs. If it helps your elf get into character by sleeping with a troll or something, hell, go for it. But, the act is behind the scenes (those damn d4's again, but nobody wants to wear that much make-up to play the troll anyway). VIOLENCE: Conservative descriptions, like cuts, bruises, or quick descriptions of mortal wounds, such as "you slice the ogre in two at the waist, but it takes a second before they part ways and spill at your feet". However, if we're talking about scenic gore, oh hell yeah (if it helps set the mood of the scene). Either way, if it helps set up a scene sure. If not, I won't bother. TORTURE: Oh hell yes! It's more a passive thing. There aren't any rolls involved in the torture itself. I don't want anyone to get used to it and I don't want it to be a common theme in my games either. MUTILATION: Same as torture. CHILD MOLESTATION/ABUSE: Having a lot of knowledge about this subject, I'm ok with it and accept it as something that happens in the real world, like car jackings, but I use it only very very sparingly, and its always just used in backstory, like something the PCs might find out an NPC had been convicted of, or they might find the body of a dead boy or girl, with evidence of such a thing. (man was that a run-on or what?!) It certainly encourages my players to nab the bastard. With that said, however, I simply have not once had the gutts to to introduce this subject with a child that still lives. I just haven't worked up the nerve, and I doubt I will. I think having it as backstory furthers the game better. Now, for the touchy one... RAPE: I don't have a problem using rape in my games, but most of the time its backstory, and if not, it takes place behind the scenes. Again, if it furthers the game, so much the better. If it doesn't, I don't use it. SUMMARY: If a player of mine has a problem with one of these, I won't use it in the game. Here's the wierd one though... FAIRY TALE CINDERELLA/BEAUTY AND THE BEST TYPE GAMES: Yup. I run those too. Freaky, isn't it?
