(BoVD) Corrupt Summons?

the Jester

Legend
3rd level spell, transmutation; it's listed in the spell lists but apparently got left out of the book! Has Wizards posted the details somewhere? It seems like a spell I might wanna be using tomorrow...

Thanks!

Though I don't own the BoVD, the BoED makes mention of "Corrupt Summons" in that it mirrors the exlated version, "Perfect Summons."

OTOH, it is 4th level (40 or 60 foot emanation from a point, don't recall which). Only summoning of evil creatures are allowed and attempting to summon good or netural creatures results in an evil version appearing. This creature(s) will not be predisposed to a good caster.

Sorry but IDHMBIFM.

Altamont, the BoVD mentions it in the spell list for wizard/sorcerers, on pg. 83 (4th level transmutation spell).

While it is listed as "Corrupt Summons" in the spell list, the spell is named "Distort Summons" in the spell descriptions -- which can be found on page 92. Read it ... i's exactly what the short blurb describes for Corrupt summons. Also the right level, school, etc. (Demonologist 3, Sor/Wiz 4).

Seems like a case of last minute renaming by the left hand, without telling the right hand about the change ...

Ahh, thanks, that makes it all much clearer!
