In his last eliminator a couple of years ago, Griffin lost to Antonio Tarver. Griffin gained fame when he became the first man to beat Roy Jones Jr., albeit by disqualification. Griffin has also gained a reputation as one of the toughest and craftiest light heavyweights. He has a solid resumé with wins over Derrick Harmon, George Jones, Jose Luis Rivera, and none other than James Toney. He is coming off a win over the tough Sam Reese in his last fight. Griffin is 47-5 with 30 KOs. This fight will headline this Goossen-Tutor card.</p><p></p><p>There will be six additional fights on this card. In a junior welterweight bout, tough veteran Steve Quinonez will battle promising young James Armah. Quinonez is a tough veteran, who is 30-9, and has lost his last three fights all by split decision. He has been in the ring with the likes of Jose Luis Castillo, Micky Ward, and has beaten name fighters like Lovemore N'dou, and Juan "Pollo" Valenzuela. He will provide the young Armah with his toughest test to date. Armah is trained by Joe Goossen, he is currently 14-0 and will be making a big step up.</p><p></p><p>There will be two heavyweight showcases on the card. In a six rounder, exciting heavyweight Jason Gavern of Scranton, Pennsylvania will battle Jermaine Woods of Phoenix. Gavern is a firefighter in Scranton, and has gained a reputation as a tough, hard-nosed fighter with good skills. He is currently 7-1-1, with his sole loss being a tight decision to Malcolm Tann. Woods is 8-2-1 with 5 KOs, with one of his losses coming against Cedric Boswell. One of the most talked about heavyweights in Southern California will also be on the card. Chris Arreola of Riverside will be fighting an opponent yet to be determined. Arreola is 10-0 with 9 KOs, and most of his fights have not lasted long.</p><p></p><p>In a six round lightweight attraction, Jessica Rakoczy will face an opponent to be determined. Jessica of Las Vegas is an impressive lightweight with a 19-1 record. She holds two victories over Mia St. John, including a TKO victory over St. John in her last fight. In a six round junior welterweight bout, former National Golden Gloves champion Lorenzo Reynolds of Saginaw, Michigan will battle Ruben Cuellar. Reynolds is 5-0 with 3 KOs, Cuellar is 1-1. In a 4 round junior middleweight bout, Jonathan Urzua of Norwalk, California will battle Jesse Colver of Santa Monica, California.
