Bracers of Striking w/ throwing and returning.

I wanted to make an item which would allow a monk to focus their Ki into a ranged attack. So far, this is the best I have been able to come up with. What do people think of this idea? Would it work? Are there any better ideas out there?

I've seen a couple of feats out there which emulate the whole ki Strike thing, but I've never seen it done as well as what was done in the 1st edition Oriental Adventures. I believe it was called Distance Death.

What I want to know is what happens if you enchant your Bracers with Throwing, but not Returning...

Distance Death let you use Pain, Stunning, or Paralyzing attacks at a range of one foot per level.

I liked the flavour text of the One Finger ability more, though, with the heavy bell...

(Of course, my very most favouritest bit from 1E OA was the Mallet of Luck... )
